Task
For the manufacturing company, an e-commerce strategy should be developed for three different business areas, which defines the necessary shop and process requirements as well as the long-term potential of e-commerce for the manufacturer.
Approach
Based on a detailed market, competition and organizational analysis the e-commerce strategy for the manufacturer was worked out. On this basis, we calculated the e-commerce potential for each business unit of the globally active company in a business case and prepared an investment plan.
Result
The optimal e-commerce ‘retail mix’ (assortment, marketing strategy, technology, onlineshop features, merchandise management, logistics, etc.) was defined and the requirements for business processes and IT. The online shop has been launched in time, budget and auality.
